Ballet dancerThe late Jane Randall, a former Serenade Society member, was a long-time supporter of New York City Ballet. She began attending NYCB performances as a child and passed down her passion for the Company to her daughter Andrea Dorfman when Andrea herself was young. Following their many years of attending performances together, Andrea continues to be a loyal patron of NYCB.

Jane especially loved ballets by NYCBco-founding choreographers George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins, and grew to appreciate the Company’s newer commissions by up-and-coming artists. Even if she didn’t particularly enjoy a new work, she understood the importance of creating new ballets each season and furthering Mr. Balanchine’s vision. Jane was an avid enthusiast of art, travel, rare books, theater, and ballet. She kept a list of each NYCB work she saw, updating it with notes each time she viewed it.

NYCB is sincerely grateful to Jane Randall for her generous support during her lifetime and for including the Company in her estate plans. Her legacy gift will continue to preserve the ballets of our founders and the creation of new works for years to come.
