Chun Wai ChanQ. What attracted you to NYCB after dancing with other companies?
A. I am not only attracted to the uniqueness of our exclusive repertories, I also admire the fearlessness of the dancers of NYCB. I love how they bring something fresh and new to the stage.

Q. What has been the highlight of your time at NYCB so far?
A. There have been so many highlights! But if I had to pick just one, last Fall Season I was asked to jump in for a couple of shows with limited amount of rehearsal. I do better under pressure, so it was a welcome challenge to meet.

Q. In your opinion, how does NYCB differ from other companies?
A. I think the fact that so many of the dancers are from the School of American Ballet is incredible. It’s an extremely unique style of training, yet everyone is allowed to show their individuality on stage.

Q. All dancers have their ‘dream’ role. What’s yours and why?
A. My dream role is Romeo because I love telling stories! It allows me to share with the audience the techniques that we practice every day.

Q. Who inspires you?
A. Mikhail Baryshnikov.
